Since 2008, DTU has collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University, one of the four leading IT universities in the US, to develop advanced programs in Software Engineering, Information System and Network Security. Each year, the School sends 200 lecturers to CMU for continuing training and curriculum updates.

Graduates of the internationally recognized programs will earn from 18 to 21 course Completion Certificates, awarded directly by Carnegie Mellon University. These certificates are internationally recognized and are a great asset when applying for jobs.

Research also plays an important role at DTU, especially in Computer Science and the School has already published many papers in international technological journals. A project entitled “Using 3D Virtual Reality Technology to Simulate the Human body for Health Science Education and Research” won first prize in IT at the Vietnam Talent Awards in 2017, held at the Vietnam-Soviet Intercultural Friendship and Labour Palace in Hanoi.

“Using 3D Virtual Reality Technology to Simulate the Human body for Health Science Education and Research” application also won an Excellence Award at the Young Intellectual Educational Contest, a second prize at the ASEAN ICT Awards, followed by a Sao Khue software excellence award in 2018 and a Made-in-Vietnam Digital Award in 2020 from the Ministry of Information and Communications, in conjunction with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The School of Computer Science focuses on becoming an innovative and entrepreneurial DTU entity, with the objective of completely digitally transforming itself and fostering a diverse ecosystem centered on university education, bringing university, business and leading IT experts together. The School will supply highly-qualified graduates and postgraduates to meet workplace and community demands and become a major center of Computer Science and related fields in Asia.
