In 2023, the Computer Science & Information Systems field at DTU was recognized within the 301-350 range globally according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. The relentless efforts of DTU in various aspects are pleasing to parents who are choosing the university as the destination for their children's higher education, especially with the extensive support policies through diverse scholarship and tuition fee structures.
High-configured Computer Labs from Samsung, Fore, and rare learning opportunities
The effective collaboration between DTU and Samsung in implementing the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) project, along with various other professional exchange activities, paved the way for Samsung Vietnam to continue sponsoring the university with modern equipment to support training activities at DTU. A lab consisting of 30 high-configured computers, 1 laptop, and 1 smart TV was placed at DTU in the final days of 2023 to carry out SIC training activities, starting from the academic year 2023-2024 and the following years.
DTU signed a cooperation agreement with Samsung
Specifically, in the academic year 2023-2024, 3 Samsung courses will be implemented:
- Internet of Things (IoT),
- Artificial Intelligence (AI),
- Big Data, and a Basic Programming Skills course.
Collaboration with Samsung has provided opportunities for 25 DTU students to participate in the SIC Big Data training course, followed by 12 students being selected for internships at the Samsung Research & Development Center in Hanoi. 8 outstanding DTU students from the SIC course were officially recruited by Samsung RD. DTU students also participated in the Samsung Science & Technology Innovation Contest through ROBOCON and excellently won both the First Prize and Second Prize nationwide.
Furthermore, on December 11, 2023, Fore Corporation (Japan) sponsored DTU with a Cyber Security Lab for research and study in Network Security. The Cyber Security Lab is equipped with 20 high-configured laptops, specialized software, 1 dedicated server, and various other network devices.

Prior to this, Fore Corporation launched the "Talent Nursery Garden for Cybersecurity - Blue Rock Project" at DTU, aiming to provide society with more information security experts. 40 outstanding students (from the third and fourth years) in Network Engineering and Network Security majors from the International School (IS) and the School of Computer Science (SCS) at DTU were selected to participate. An noteworthy aspect of this project is that students receive a monthly salary ranging from $400 to $800 while still studying at DTU. Depending on each student's abilities, Fore Corporation will continue to provide salaries as professionals in the future.
DTU signed a cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud Intelligence
In the Computer Science field, at the beginning of 2024, on February 24, DTU signed a cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud Intelligence to establish a partnership in various activities. These include: academic empowerment programs on Alibaba's cloud platform (AAEP); collaborating to nurture local talents with technological capabilities and business acumen; working together to help educators and students develop practical skills in innovation to meet the demands in Vietnam and other countries.
DTU students leave their mark in the global Cyber Security landscape
In addition to the Computer Labs donated by large corporations, DTU also has 2 Open Lab Practice Rooms, including:
- Information Warfare Practice Room, and
- Network Engineering Practice Room
Equipped with specialized network devices such as servers, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancing devices (from various manufacturers such as Cisco, Fortinet, Drytech, etc.). At the same time, simulation systems have been built, including:
- "DTU Network Battlefield",
- "DTU Private Cloud" sponsored by Alibaba,
- "DTU Network Operations Center",
which are creating the best conditions for DTU students to study and compete in various Information Security competitions both nationally and internationally.
DTU students won the Second Prize in the ASEAN Cyber Shield 2023 competition in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a prize of $10,000.
In Information Security competitions, DTU students always take pride in significant awards, including:
- Second Prize at the ASEAN Cyber Shield 2023 competition in Jakarta, Indonesia,
- Second Prize at the "ASEAN Students with Information Security" competition 2023,
- Second Prize at the "ASEAN Students with Information Security" competition 2022,
- Second Prize at the ARAB Security Cyber Wargames 2022 in Egypt,
- Third Prize at the "Information Security Arena" competition - Security Bootcamp 2022,
- Third Prize at the Insomnihack CTF Finals 2022 in Switzerland,
Moreover, the ISITDTU Information Security team (white-hat hackers) consistently ranks first in Vietnam (for many years from 2019 to present, ranked 41st worldwide in 2023) in the CTF Time Ranking.

In 2023, the Computer Science & Information Systems field at DTU was ranked in the Top 301-350 globally according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. This is evidence of DTU's efforts after many years of training in the Information Technology and Computer Science sectors, with much appreciated recognition from society.

The IT/Computer Science programs at DTU ensure quality as the university directly imports curriculum frameworks, teaching content, and trains lecturers from Carnegie Mellon University - one of the top four universities in Information Technology in the United States (according to U.S. News 2023). Additionally, many programs in the IT sector at DTU have received ABET accreditation - the "gold" standard for Science-Technology education in the United States, including:
- Software Engineering: ABET accredited in 2021,
- Network Engineering: ABET accredited in 2019, and
- Management Information Systems: ABET accredited in 2019.
All of these programs have the highest accreditation level of 6 years. Many courses in the program are taught in English by either professors from U.S. universities or foreign lecturers at the International School (IS) of DTU.
The quality of students in the IT/Computer Science sector at DTU is highly regarded by businesses. Rapidly increasing demands for skilled labor from various enterprises such as the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, FPT Corporation, Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VN-CERT), Information and Communication Departments of Central Highlands and Central provinces, Information Security Department - Ministry of Information and Communications, IBM, Samsung, Microsoft, etc., are ensuring IT students at DTU are completely assured with ample opportunities to find the best job positions even before graduation.
