Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Vietnam Visits DTU

On the morning of June 22, 2026, Duy Tan University had the honor of welcoming H.E. Adam Mulawarman Tugio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Vietnam, for an official visit and working session with the University.

In a warm and open atmosphere, Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio expressed his pleasure at visiting Da Nang for the first time in his new capacity and noted with particular interest the similarities in the historical struggles for independence shared by Vietnam and Indonesia. The Ambassador emphasized that 1908 marked a significant milestone in the history of both nations, when the spirit of reform, self-reliance, and aspirations for independence were strongly awakened.

Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio also highly appreciated DTU’s role in promoting regional educational connectivity through the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) network. He acknowledged the University’s active contributions to strengthening academic exchanges, fostering cooperation, and building bridges between Vietnam and the ASEAN community.

Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, Chairman of the DTU Council, together with the University’s administrators and faculty members, warmly welcomed the Ambassador. He shared insights into the strong and enduring friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia, nurtured by the close relationship between President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno -two visionary leaders who laid the foundation for the friendship between the two nations.

Recalling his participation in activities organized by the Passage to ASEAN network in Indonesia, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co expressed his admiration for the remarkable achievements of the archipelagic nation. He reaffirmed that Duy Tan University places great importance on expanding cooperation with Indonesian universities in order to provide more opportunities for international learning and exchange for its students and faculty members.

 

In particular, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co proposed enhancing cooperation between DTU and Indonesian universities and experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He emphasized the importance and urgency of AI technologies for improving quality of life and labor productivity, with the shared aspiration of helping Vietnam and Indonesia become developed countries before 2045. The proposal was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio, who expressed his desire to pursue further discussions and cooperation following the meeting.


The visit of H.E. Adam Mulawarman Tugio not only helped strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia but also opened up new prospects for cooperation in education, research, and cultural exchange, contributing to the shared development of the ASEAN community.
