The company Dentium organized a training program “All-on-X & GBR Dental Implants” in collaboration with Harvard University (US) and Duy Tan University (DTU) on October 19 and 20.

Four lecturers from Harvard University personally lectured. They offered a comprehensive learning experience to doctors seeking to enhance their skills in these advanced dental implant techniques.
Over the years, the All-on-X method has significantly improved the quality of life for patients with full-arch or near-full-arch tooth loss.
For successful outcomes, however, doctors must appropriately select patients and develop a suitable implant plan.
At the training program “All-on-X & GBR Dental Implants”, key and comprehensive information on the All-on-X implant method was presented to give the doctors the comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary for clinical practice.

During the course, the doctors and dentists gained in-depth insights into the concept behind All-on-X, followed by diagnosis, treatment planning, implementing surgical techniques, and restoration procedures.
Special emphasis was on sinus lifts and guided bone regeneration (GBR), to improve the doctors’ skills in managing complex clinical cases.
The training program covered the following topics: step-by-step overview of All-on-X implant and restoration techniques; workshop on full-arch All-on-4 implants with demos and guidance from Harvard lecturers; introduction to bone grafting and new perspectives on sinus lifts; and hands-on workshop on closed and open sinus lifts and guided bone regeneration.
DTU has already organized numerous seminars to exchange knowledge on digital dental restoration, digital workflows for complex surgeries and to deal with issues, and other such topics, and Continuing Medical Education (CME) certificates have been awarded to many participants — Odonto-stomatology specialists from hospitals and private clinics across Vietnam and from other countries in Southeast Asia.
The four professors and doctors who taught at the program are:
- Assoc.Prof. Dr MD David M. Kim, Director of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine graduate program in Periodontics and member of the American Board of Periodontology: He is a past recipient of the Joseph L. Henry Award recognizing excellence in research and clinical training from Harvard. In addition, he received the Balint Orban research award, and award for outstanding teaching and mentoring in periodontics, and a teaching fellowship from the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr Kim’s clinical and research interests are on the use of innovative concepts, technologies and biomaterials to enhance intraoral soft and hard tissue formation, especially by incorporating the tissue engineering concept to repair and regenerate soft and hard tissue volume for patients requiring dental implants to replace missing teeth.
- Dr MD Wahn Khang, Associate Professor of Clinical Practice at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and member of the American Board of Periodontology: He received an excellence in clinical internship award from Tufts University and an Outstanding Resident Award from the University of Maryland.
- Prof. Dr MD Jerry Lin, lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, member of the American Board of Periodontology, and Board Director of the Academy of Dental Implantology (RoC): He is the founder and director of the Institute for Advanced Dental Education (iADE), where comprehensive periodontal and implant training courses have been offered since 2007. In addition to his commitment to dental education, Dr Lin has an ongoing career path as a periodontist in his own private practice in Taipei.
- MS MD Emilio Arguello, lecturer at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and member of the American Board of Periodontology: He has conducted extensive clinical and basic science research in periodontology at the Forsyth Institute and Harvard University in Boston. His research work in biofilm formation as well as the microbiology and clinical treatment of periodontal diseases earned him a NIH-National Research Service Award. He has also been part of the Mexican Olympic team for fencing.
