On the morning of September 13, 2024, at Building F, Practice Center, 120 Hoang Minh Thao, Megagen Korea, Tin Nha Co., Ltd., and DTU collaborated to organize a hands-on workshop titled "Basic Implant Placement." This is the first workshop on implant placement techniques in Central Vietnam aimed at providing students in the field of Dentistry with the opportunity to enhance their expertise and directly practice this advanced technology.
Specialist Doctor Level 1 Do Thanh Tin instructs Dentistry students during the workshop
Specialist Doctor Level 1 Do Thanh Tin personally guided the Dentistry students through two specific parts:
• Theoretical Learning: Overview of Basic Implants
• Hands-on Practice: Procedures for Single Implant Placement
Throughout the workshop, DTU students were very enthusiastic about learning, exchanging ideas, and especially practicing implant placement in the laboratory with numerous models and modern equipment invested by the university.
Dentistry students excitedly practice the single implant placement procedure
Nguyen Van Chuong, a 6th-year Dentistry student, holding the book “Ovate Pontic” – a reward for providing an impressive answer during the session – commented: “Today’s workshop was incredibly valuable with many interesting lectures. It was a rare opportunity for my peers and me to directly perform clinical cases under the guidance of experienced mentors, helping us understand more about specialized techniques in implant placement, such as positioning, drilling, and more. Compared to theoretical learning alone, hands-on practice made it easier to imagine and visualize the procedures, enhancing our skills. I’m very pleased that the university organized this workshop, allowing us to engage with this new and impressive topic, broadening our perspectives and learning more.”
The workshop provides valuable knowledge and professional skills to final-year Dentistry students
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tuyen, a lecturer in Dentistry, shared her thoughts on the workshop: “In the past, implant placement was considered a technique that was difficult for university students to access. However, with the development of the Dentistry field and to help students quickly grasp these techniques, DTU has created opportunities for students to access implants early, practicing directly on models and using professional tools. This helps students not only to become familiar with the technology but also to easily develop their skills and benefit greatly when they enter the workforce.”
DTU, with its motto "All for the benefits of students' learning and employment," regularly organizes valuable workshops to provide knowledge and professional skills, continuously creating the best learning environment for students to develop comprehensively.
