On February 19, the DTU Media center, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Vietnam Writers Association of Danang held a literary exchange night, entitled “Truoc Song Han”.
Poets, DTU lecturers and students
Poems can express our inner thoughts and sentiments and poetry-lovers are touched by simple yet elegant words which reflect their feelings. With the theme “Truoc Song Han”, poets expressed their patriotism, friendship and their concerns about their hectic lives.
“Nh?ng d?o dá nhô lên t? lòng bi?n
Ngu?i lính hiên ngang gi? bên c?t m?c ch? quy?n
Ph?p ph?i Qu?c kì tung bay trên ng?c d?o
T? Qu?c b?t d?u t? phía m?t tr?i lên
…
Oi Vi?t Nam! T? Qu?c thiêng liêng
Ðây Tru?ng Sa tuy?n d?u ngan sóng d?
Ðây Tru?ng Sa dã tr? thành b?t t?
Cho d?t nu?c yên bình t? phía m?t tr?i lên.”
Associate Professor Do Canh Thin recites a poem
The audience listened in silence as poems concerning Danang were recited, including an emotional one about “The Fatherland and the Spratly Islands”, written by Do Canh Thin.
Poets and writers from Quang Nam province, including Bui Xuan, Ngan Vinh, Le Anh Dung, Nguyen Ngoc Hanh, Thai Ba Loi and Dinh Thi Thuy, told stories about the history of Danang and the soldiers who endured the hardships of war. They expressed their deepest impressions about the things they lost and the things they retained during the war, and about their everyday successes and failures. Poet Nguyen Ngoc Hanh recited:
“Nh?ng d?o dá nhô lên t? lòng bi?n
Ngu?i lính hiên ngang gi? bên c?t m?c ch? quy?n
Ph?p ph?i Qu?c kì tung bay trên ng?c d?o
T? Qu?c b?t d?u t? phía m?t tr?i lên
Oi Vi?t Nam! T? Qu?c thiêng liêng
Ðây Tru?ng Sa tuy?n d?u ngan sóng d?
Ðây Tru?ng Sa dã tr? thành b?t t?
Cho d?t nu?c yên bình t? phía m?t tr?i lên.”
