Talented Children Shine at the “Duy Tan Gives Dreams Wings” contest

On June 4, the “Duy Tan Gives Dreams Wings” contest was held by the DTU Association of Intellectual Women and many children of the DTU lecturers and staff performed. Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, Ms. Vo Thi Kim Ngan, Vice-Chairperson of the DTU Association of Intellectual Women and two hundred children attended. 

Launched in late April, the “Duy Tan Gives Dreams Wings” contest was supported by many of the university’s staff and lecturers. The contest was timed around International Children's Day to provide an exciting and healthy environment in the arts for children to showcase their talents.

Children take part in games with a clown

After the first round, the leading 11 acts of 20 advanced to the finals. The stage was filled with laughter, and boisterous and fun games were coordinated by a clown, with cutely shaped balloons as prizes. The contest became even livelier and interesting as children began performing in the talent show. The acts were very diverse, including singing, dancing, piano playing, martial arts and so on.

The Daddy Dance Group, associated with the Faculty of Foreign Languages, won first prize. Two second prizes went to the “Vovinam Martial Arts Display” and to the “Dance Sport Couple”, three third prizes to the “Chick Dance Group”, “The Organ Solo” and “Proud of you”, and five consolation prizes.

Twenty presents were also awarded to children with high achievements in arts and sports competitions at the ward, district, national and international levels.

The “Duy Tan Gives Dreams Wings” contest was a great success. The DTU Association of Intellectual Women plans to hold the contest annually to solidify the bonds between the children of the staff and lecturers.
