DTU to Host the Twenty First Olympic Mathematics Competition

On April 14, the Awards Ceremony of the twentieth National Mathematics competition, organized by MOET and the Vietnam Mathematics Association took place in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province. Two DTU students won third prize and a consolation prize this year.

About 660 from 77 universities and colleges participated in the competition. The judges awarded 320 prizes for competitors in Analytics and Algebra.

There were eight DTU students competing in Algebra and Analytics. Mr. Nguyen Van Tien and Mr. Le Xuan Huy (Civil Engineering and Electronics students) won third Prize and a consolation prize respectively in Analytics and Algebra. 

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, the DTU team leader was honored to be granted a Certificate of Merit by MOET and a souvenir medal from the Central Union for his contributions to Olympic Mathematics Competition.

After the ceremony, the National Olympic Mathematics Banner was passed on to Mr. Huynh Ngoc Hao, DTU Vice-Rector, who will be hosting the XXI National Olympic Mathematics Competition in 2013.

 “The achievements of the DTU team are very encouraging for us, and, equally important is the selection of DTU to host to the next year’s competition, which recognizes the steady emergence of high quality education, faculty and resources at DTU”, said Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien.
