On October 6, Times Higher Education (THE) announced their world university rankings by subject. Previously, three Vietnamese universities, the Hanoi University of Science & Technology (HUST), the Vietnam National University in Hanoi (VNU-HN) and the Vietnam National University in HCMC (VNUHCM) were included in the rankings. This year, two other Vietnamese institutions were added, DTU and Ton Duc Thang University, both ranked in 401 to 500 group.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen wants to become a doctor and decided to study for a General Practitioner degree at Duy Tan University (DTU). Over the past 4 years, Ngoc Huyen has done very well and is highly respected by her lecturers and fellow students. She studies hard, is always cheerful and volunteers with the DTU Youth Union activities for Covid-19 patient treatment activities remotely.

On October 20, the DTU Association of Intellectual Women and the DTU Union held a Zoom talk show entitled: “Emotional Guidance for Marital Fulfillment”, to celebrate the 91st anniversary of Vietnam Women's Day. DTU Vice-Provosts Dr. Le Nguyen Tue Hang and Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu; Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Dean of the DTU Social Sciences & Humanities Faculty; Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Van, a lecturer from Tay Nguyen University, Ms. Nguyen Hong Xuan Ngoc from the USA, and female members and staff attended.

On October 16, because of the pandemic, DTU and the Phu Yen Center for Continuing Education jointly opened the online X27 Accounting, IT, Construction Engineering and English Language courses. MSc. Nguyen Trung Thuan, Director of the e-University Center; representatives from DTU e-University Centers in Hanoi and HCMC; the Phu Yen Center for Continuing Education; DTU lecturers, staff and X27 students attended.

On October 23rd, TMA Solutions, together with the DTU Computer Science, Technology and International Schools, held a Zoom Employee recruitment seminar, broadcast from the TMA Innovation Parks in Binh Dinh and HCMC. Attendees included Mr. Nguyen Ngo Duy Binh, TMA Innovation Park Director; Ms. Nguyen Quynh Anh, Senior Manager; Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Innovative Product Development Process Manager: DTU lecturers, staff and students.

The list includes Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc from Vietnam National University in Hanoi, who came in at 5,949 with a 96 in Engineering; Associate Professor Le Hoang Son from Vietnam National University in Hanoi at 6,766; Professor Nguyen Xuan Hung from the HCMC University of Technology at 6,818; Professor Bui Tien Dieu of Duy Tan University at 9,488; and Professor Vo Xuan Vinh of the University of Economics in HCMC at 9,528. On October 24, the DTU International School held a seminar entitled: "The IT Workforce - Opportunities and Challenges". Attendees included Mr. Vy Van Viet, Deputy Chairperson of Danang Software Business Association and Director of iViettech; Mr. Bui Duc Minh, CEO of MIND (Smart IoT), Danang; Dr. Nguyen Duc Man, Director of the DTU International School; DTU lecturers, staff and students.

The 2021 rankings only included institutions in countries classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as “advanced emerging”, “secondary emerging” or “frontier”. However, different criteria have been applied to reflect university development priorities universities in emerging economies.

On October 30, the DTU Youth Union held its 2020-2021 year-end meeting of the Work and Student Movement, Union and planned its activities, programs and objectives for 2021-2022. The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) opened in Glasgow in the UK on October 31 and was attended by 100 world leaders. The Conference reviewed the progress made on commitments made in the Paris Agreement to limit global warming by implementing measures to combat climate change.
