‘Nursing - a 10-year journey at DTU’

On November 19, DTU’s Faculty of Nursing celebrated its 10th anniversary, with a ceremony themed ‘Nursing - a 10-year journey at DTU.’

The anniversary marks a significant milestone in the establishment and development of the Faculty, steered by the collective efforts of DTU’s Board of Provosts, the DTU’s Faculty of Nursing, devoted lecturers and staff, and the continuing commitment of students. Over the past ten years, Faculty of Nursing graduates have dispersed across various locations, in Vietnam and overseas, and several returned to warmly express their gratitude for their DTU education
 
Nursing students receive scholarships
 
Having overcome many difficulties, with considerable success,  MSc. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, Deputy-Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, reflected on the journey and presented a report summarizing development over the ten . Flowers were presented to the DTU Board of Provosts, the DTU School of Medicine and Pharmacy Deans, the Faculty of Nursing Deans, and sponsors. An exciting musical show was then performed by the students and alumni extended their good wishes to the Faculty.

Students also received various gifts from alumni and sponsors, including 10 from K18YDD alumni, in addition to Lactation Consultant courses, worth 20 million VND, awarded to two senior students and presented by MSc. Tran Thi My Huong, a K16 alumni and Director of Quang Binh BonYuu Mother and Baby Care Center.
 
A seminar entitled: “Nursing - Reaching Far” was also held on the same day. Attendees included: Professor Tran Huu Dang, Dean of the School of Medicine and Pharmacy; MSc. Nguyen Thi Quang Tri, a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Nursing Association and Chairman of Danang Nursing Association; MSc. Nguyen Thi Phuc, Head of the Nursing Department at Danang Hospital; Mr.
 
Ohta Yukia, Director of Healthcare Accelerator (Japan); Ms. Dang Thi My Dung, Chief Nurse of the Lien Chieu District Health Center; MSc. Ho Van Trieu, a former student of the first Master's course in nursing and Head of the Nursing Department at Military Hospital 17, and MSc. Pham Van Truong, Dean of the DTU Faculty of Nursing. As a result, the experiences shared during the seminar will inspire students to strive even harder in the future. 
 
“Saving a life, you are a hero. Saving hundreds of lives, you are a nurse.” With the hard work and dedication of DTU lecturers, staff, and students over the past decade, the Faculty of Nursing will certainly continue to grow and succeed in the future.
