As there is a shortage of high-quality human resources for medicine and healthcare, DTU officially started enrolling for its first class in the Health Sciences - for Nursing - in 2009. In 2013, the university had drawn up a project to start a General Medicine (General Practitioner) major, and the school received permission to start enrolling in the 2015-2016 academic year. Students interested in studying Medicine then had a new, dependable university to apply to.

“To give staff, lecturers, and students of the Health Sciences - and of Medicine in particular - the best conditions for their studies, internships, and research, DTU, since many years now, pays continuous and close attention to the creation of quality curriculums, to investment in laboratories with modern equipment, and to close collaboration with the medical centers and hospitals in Danang,” DTU Vice Provost Assoc.Prof. Dr Nguyen Ngoc Minh said in the opening speech. “The students of Medicine at DTU have been studying hard, striving to train their professional skills, and focusing on acquiring the medical ethics of a doctor. I hope that you freshmen of class K25 will actively continue acquiring knowledge to rapidly become enthusiastic physicians devoted to their work.”

Many memorable arts performances animated the ceremony welcoming the K25 Faculty of Medicine freshmen

At the ceremony, incredibly lively arts performances, memorable presentations, and meaningful spiritual presents with heartfelt words of gratitude were offered to the lecturers. In addition, small but attractive and interesting games quickly dispelled the shyness of the freshmen setting their first steps at university.

“Putting your feet on the journey of medicine, decided to become a skilled physician, is synonymous with having to walk a long path of stressful studying and training under pressure,” said Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Tram of class K22 YDK3, DTU Faculty of Medicine. “The life of a medicine student may be hard, but I believe many students of medicine still do not regret their choice, as the harder it is, the more we really go for it and the more we do our best, because we understand that our work later on will be to save lives and to help people. Just seeing the smile of a patient after being healed is enough motivation for future doctors and nurses like us to continue on our journey towards medicine.”
