On May 6th, Duy Tan University, the US Alumni Club of HCMC and the US Consulate General in HCMC held a “Path to Your Dreams” workshop. Ms. Le Thi Kim Muon, Cultural Affairs Assistant of the US Consulate General in HCMC, Mr. Dau Thanh Chau, President of the US Alumni Club, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost, students and pupils of universities, colleges and high schools in Danang attended.

At the workshop, Ms. Le Thi Kim Muon provided an overview of education in the USA and how to prepare to study abroad and the support programs of the US Consulate General in HCMC.
The Global UGRAD scholarship provides one academic semester of undergraduate non-degree study in the United States in any field. Students study at accredited four-year American institutions of higher education and receive intensive English instruction, if needed. They participate in community service projects, professional development workshops and cultural enrichment activities, and live on-campus with American students or in home stays with American families.
The YSEALI scholarship program is for undergraduates, graduates and students between the ages of 18 and 25, which provides them with a deeper understanding of the United States, special topics and enhances their leadership skills. Winners attend a five-week course studying Civic Engagement, Environmental Issues, Social Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.

The workshop taught students about the advantages and disadvantages of studying America and how to research scholarships opportunities.
Members of the US Alumni Club of HCMC work together to create and develop the “Lighting Vietnamese Aspirations” program, which is aimed to link students worldwide to share inspiration and experience, to assist them to fulfill their dreams of studying abroad. An introduction by Mr. Nguyen Duc Man, Dean of the DTU International School, provided information on DTU programs affiliated with foreign universities. By importing high-quality programs from well-known universities worldwide, and developing other international exchange programs, DTU provides study opportunities and the opportunity to experience advanced education at reasonable prices.
Pham Thi Hong Luan, a DTU student from the K20VQH2 class, said: “Today’s workshop helped me to better understand the culture, the people and the American way of life. This is a vital component of my International Relations major. I intend to study abroad and, with the advice of former overseas students, I can better prepare for my visa interview, research scholarships and complete my application.”
