Private Universities Promote their Strengths

On August 16th, 2010, Mr. Le Van Mot-Thang Long University’s Provost paid a visit to Duy Tan University

At the working session, both universities gave an overview on such topics as the founding and development process, faculty training programs and scientific research programs. They also exchanged some ideas on credit-based teaching, building political and social organizations, as well as the difficulties and challenges of private universities in general and Thang Long University in particular.

According to Mr. Mot, the annual enrollment at Thang long University is limited due to the student and parent perception of the differences between state and private universities. However, with effective management, private universities are now promoting their strengths and effectiveness. Duy Tan University and Thang Long University, as well as several other private universities, have proved their increasing reputation through their significant work in providing high qualified graduates to the community.

Thang Long University, Duy Tan University, Phuong Dong University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology were the first four private universities in Vietnam, all founded in the same year, 1994.
