The visa, also known as the “tokutei ginou”, is issued by the Japanese government to foreigners who can then work long-term in Japan with attractive incomes and many extras. However, qualifications and other conditions are more stringent than before.

The Type-1 Specified Skilled Worker Visa has many notable advantages, with salaries above the minimum wage, equivalent to those of equally qualified Japanese workers. In addition, visa holders are able to change jobs in the same field with good reasons. The visa is valid for five years, with unlimited extensions, with the possibility of obtaining a permanent Japanese residence visa later. Questions about accommodation, remuneration, long-term settlement in Japan and others were answered by the Yokohama City Welfare Management Association and DTU representatives.

Architect Le Vinh An said: “DTU enjoys partnering with Japanese companies and educational institutions to broaden opportunities for its staff, lecturers and students and graduating highly-trained human resources for domestic and foreign enterprises. Today's seminar will provide Nursing and other students with more information on future study and work opportunities in Japan.”
