“I don’t care too much about high scores, instead I mainly aim for mastery of a topic and good application of what I’ve learned,” Thuy Trang explains. “I also choose to study when I feel the most receptive, rather than forcing myself to study too much at once and not leaving my mind time to rest. I don’t take extra tutoring classes, but whether studying in class or on my own, I’m very focused and keep my mind at ease to achieve the best results.”

Thuy Trang loves reading and has learned many a good lesson from the books she has read. In particular, the book “While you are dreaming, others are working hard”  is her favorite because it gave her a better understanding of effective time-management and interpersonal communications, and helped her realize that one’s own efforts are very important to achieve success.

Because she likes experiencing and discovering new things, Thuy Trang chose to enroll for Multimedia Communications at DTU. “When I researched DTU, I was very impressed with its facilities, training programs, and lecturers, and especially that it’s been consistently ranked in the top 500 of the best universities in the world over the years. My parents are both farmers and I’m the eldest child, so when I heard that I’d receive a full scholarship that completely covers tuition throughout the course, my family and I were all overjoyed. For me, the scholarship is not just a valuable gift to recognize my twelve years of study efforts, but also motivates me to do my best in my upcoming journey and reduce the economic burden on my parents.”

“I divide my study time diligently, however I don’t put too much pressure on myself, but don’t spend too much time having fun,” said Cam Ly, revealing her secret for effective study. “In History, I browse through the events, and take practice exams for longer recall. I also participate in online classes, listen to lectures, and answer each question, to get a better understanding of the issue. For reading comprehension and social criticism in Literature, I aim for a firm grasp of the structure and method of the test. As for literary criticism, I don’t memorize all the essays, but I learn how to get to the ideas of each paragraph, learn carefully about the authors and their works, and about related literary theories, to avoid ending up like those who just cram the most common questions.”

Cam Ly dreams of becoming a professional lawyer, which is why she chose to major in Business Law (HP) at DTU. “I personally want to obtain a quick grasp of legal issues, give legal advice to clients, and contribute to establishing a just society,” she explains. “I carefully researched and considered the educational environment at different universities before applying.

“I know that DTU is well-positioned in domestic and international rankings, that the university has excellent facilities, experienced lecturers, diverse scholarship policies and a high rate of students gaining employment. All this gives me more confidence in my choice to study at DTU. I’m very happy with the support from my family, and DTU has already given me a lot of motivation through the scholarship. I hope that DTU will enable me access to the latest legal information, so that I can practice the skills, qualities and attitudes of a law professional.”
