DTU Students Enthused about “Easy Game Careers, with Gear” Discussion

On April 8, the Gear Vietnam company held an event entitled: “Easy Game Careers, with Gear”, organized in collaboration with DTU. The talk attracted many students with an interest in game creation. The DTU School of Computer Science plans to expand students’ awareness of the exciting Games & Multimedia field and open up future career opportunities for them.

“We warmly welcome Gear Inc. today,”  said DTU School of Computer Science Vice-Provost Dr. Dang Viet Hung. “DTU puts heavy focus on connecting with companies like Gear. Our business partners always need qualified employees and our university needs feedback on education programs, technology updates, jobs for students, and occasional scholarships. The School of Computer Science has a long-standing partnership with Gear Inc. and today’s event is the realization of previous bilateral agreements. Finally, I’d like to wish you success  obtaining internships, and hope that you can all achieve your expectations.”
 
Gear Inc. Vietnam is a wholly owned American software company based in San Francisco, with three specialties, Alley Labs, a mobile game development application; Pure Moderation, for image & video, social listening and customer support; and Testing Hero, for manual and automated software testing with global certificates. 
 
Gear Inc. partners with major companies worldwide, such as Scopely, Udemy, Tapjoy, and MocoSpace and, in Vietnam, is based Hanoi with offices in Danang, and nearby, in Cebu in the Philippines.
 
Veteran members of Gear, including Mr. Su Minh Thanh, a Senior Web Engineer and from 2018 to 2021 and Mentor at the Devfest Hackathon; Mr. Nguyen Tan Khoi, a Technical Leader, with ten years’ experience in game development; and Mr. Aldo Mata, a VFX Artist with six years in game art. The attendees obtained a better understanding of job opportunities in the industry, the difficulties and challenges of creating games and learned about some of the most successful products.
