On February 19th, DTU held a “Startup Journey with Shark Lien” Talk Show. The special guest was Shark Lien, who shared her valuable startup experiences and her unforgettable sayings and inspired the students. The Talk Show series is part of the “Supporting the national innovative startup ecosystem until 2025” project, organized by the Danang People’s Committee from 2022 to 2025.

Dr. Tran Nhat Tan, DTU Vice-Provost, said: “One of the most important goals of our DTU development strategy is to build DTU into an entrepreneurial university, a skill we have taught for many past years now. DTU has also founded the Startup Club to orientate and motivate students to create more innovative, spontaneous and creative startups. Entrepreneurial business executives have been invited to DTU to share their personal experiences and help students acquire real-world experience and the know-how to implement their own startup projects.”
Ms. Do Thi Kim Lien, also known as Shark Lien, is the Chairwoman of the AquaOne Corporation, and a famous investor, diplomat, volunteer and inspirational personality in Vietnam. Currently, her projects involve the fields of insurance, technology, water quality, environmental protection and startup investment.

Shark Lien answered many questions from DTU students, including tips on how to stay young and enthusiastic, how to overcome difficulties when starting a career, how to maintain a passion for work, how to choose the right time to start a business and what motivates someone to start a successful business.
Shark Lien told students stories of her past, her obsession with poverty, her youthful aspirations, her efforts to succeed, and her gratitude for all she has achieved until now. She believes that everyone should learn how to take care of themselves and understand how to develop and pursue their passions.

Shark Lien has mentors young people on how to build a solid foundation in preparation for starting a business immediately on graduation, and how to choose a suitable career and turn their passion into reality. She advised students to think positively, appreciate every different aspect of their lives, their passions and happily learn how to earn money.
