DTU Donates Gifts to the Navy Region 4 Sailors

On December 11, the DTU leadership visited the 4th Regional Command Naval Headquarters in Khanh Hoa Province. They presented gifts to members of the 146th Brigade to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army and the upcoming 2023 Lunar New Year.

Distinguished Teacher and Hero of Labor Le Cong Co, Chairman of the DTU Board of Trustees, who was formerly a soldier in the Revolution, was touched by the affection he was welcomed with and explained: “I was a soldier once, I experienced the fierce resistance of our people and understand the hardships and sacrifices of our soldiers on the frontline who protect our borders. Every time we hear of soldiers performing this sacred task, it is our duty to boost their morale. At DTU, our strategy of social responsibility is clearly defined. We must continue to instill patriotism and follow the tradition of showing our gratitude to our staff, lecturers and students.”

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co hoped the University could arrange more meetings like this one to implement some inspirational practical activities for our soldiers on the Spratly Islands.

“We are highly honored to welcome the DTU delegation to present gifts to the 146th Brigade,” said Colonel Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Brigade Commander and Vice-Chairman of the Truong Sa district People’s Committee. We have scheduled many major events as our sailors prepare to go to sea to protect our country’s offshore islands. On behalf of the Brigade command, I’d like to thank the DTU management board, lecturers and students for their special visit, their caring and their words of encouragement to the officers and sailors of the 146th Brigade.”
