Tran Anh Minh is a senior K23 EDC PNU student in Mechanical Engineering. His achievements over the past four years at DTU are due to his continuing hard work in study and research and he has focused on pursuing a career as a programmer, creating innovative new applications for the community. Meanwhile, he has also participated in several extracurricular activities, including the Go Green in the City contest and other competitions.
Tran Anh Minh wins third prize in the 2018 Go Green in the City contest, with his “Green House” project
During his primary school years, Anh Minh tried to overcome the poor living conditions in his hometown. He said: “I spent my childhood in the An Nghia commune, in the Hoai An district, a remote area of the Binh Dinh province. My school there was not well-equipped so we couldn’t use the latest study materials. However, the dedicated teachers there encouraged us to study hard and continue naturing our dreams."

In 12th grade, Anh Minh began to learn about programming robots and his interest increased considerably. He said: “I learned about robot design, programming and production online but was unable to practice with real models. I read about programming robots that I could build myself.”
On the path of success, there is no evidence of holding back
Anh Minh is always self-motivated to work hard and overcome all difficulties in pursuit of his dream,

Anh Minh said: “Whenever I face failure or challenges, I remind myself of Lu Xun's quote: “On the road to success, there is no trace of laziness.” We will never succeed without a firm objective. For four years, the very guidance and support of the DTU lecturers and the university in general has strongly motivated me. Now, by myself, I can create a mobile robot with all the necessary controls and movements. My intensive education and basic knowledge have enabled me to perfect several practical technology products that can now be used in the community, as I’d hoped.”
Anh Minh has won many valuable awards:
- Third prize in the 2018 Go Green in the City contest, with his “Green house” project
- First prize in the 2018 Circuit design contes, held by the Electrical Engineering faculty
- Consolation prize in the 2018 Social Venture Plan competition
- Second prize in the 2019 Go Green in the City contest, with his “Renewable energy from hot exhaust fans” project
- Third prize in the 2019 Internet of Things Design and Implementation Contest (IOT)
- Third prize in the 2020 “Warring Robots” contest
- Second prize in the 2021 Go Green in the City contest, with the “Energy Regenerating Backpack”
Anh Minh said: “My DTU lecturers and colleagues urged me to continue researching robots. The state-of-the-art environment at DTU opens up more opportunities for students to use their talents to create practical community applications.”
