“Love and Autumn Remain” - A Xuan Quynh Poetry and Music Evening

On the evening of December 26, the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences held an evening of poetry and music by Xuan Quynh entitled “Love and Autumn Remain” at the DTU library. Invited writers, poets, other artists, DTU lecturers and students attended.

The distinguished guests included Meritorious Artist Do Linh, artist Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen, artist Tram Boi Xuan, the 2015 Voice winner, Trinh Nguyen Hong Minh, writer Thai Ba Loi, and members of the Danang Writers' Association.
 
“This evening of poetry and music by Xuan Quynh, entitled ‘Love and Autumn Remain’ has been organized by the students of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences to celebrate the poetess Xuan Quynh, known as the ‘Queen of Poetry and Love’,” explained Dean Huong. “I hope the recitations of her acclaimed poetry, the prose of our invited artists and also of our students will once more recreate the loving poetess’s sensitive soul, thirst for affection, fierce and visceral love, and earnestly passionate words from her heart, to touch the emotions of us all.”

The poetry and music evening was organized to show gratitude to this exemplary writer, who holds a special place in modern Vietnamese poetry. At the same time, our students are also able to refine their teamwork, interactive, planning and implementation skills, employing practical project-based learning models.
 
The artists recited many famous poems, including Last Autumn Love Poem, Waves, The Boat and the Sea, Singing Alone and Speaking with You, full of emotion. The DTU student contingent performed songs with lyrics based on Xuan Quynh’s poems as well as short, reenacted theatrical vignettes and clips.
 
The evening of poetry gave the DTU students a chance to meet with the poets, writers and other artists and listen to the poems of the “Quynh Flower” of the literary world together.
