With her beautiful smile and outstanding performance, Nguyen Thi Tran Chau, a DTU third-year Tourism & Hospitality Management student will participate in the 2020 Miss Vietnam finals entitled “A Decade of Colors”, to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on November 20.

Before entering the 2020 contest, Tran Chau came 9th in the 2017 Miss Teen competition and reached the finals of the 2018 Miss Photogenic Vietnam contest, but withdrew for health reasons.
In preparation for the 2020 Miss Vietnam contest, Tran Chau is in good health, more knowledgeable and self-confident. “The national contest honors the external, internal, intellectual beauty and kindness of Vietnamese women. I entered because I want to meet and exchange ideas with others from all over Vietnam and broaden my experience”, said Tran Chau
Since serious storms have recently brought much flooding to central Vietnam and Tran Chau is concerned because she lives in Duy Xuyen, in Quang Nam. She said: “I could only just call my parents, who encouraged me to try my best to focus on the contest. I have also received the full support of my DTU lecturers and colleagues, which motivates me to try harder.”

Participating in Kindness project, Tran Chau launched an appeal for 1 ton of rice to support those who suffered in the floods and storms, donating rice, cooking oil, fish sauce and salt to needy, ravaged homeowners. She enjoyed the “Happy Meal” event, partnering with the Muoi Thu Charity Kitchen, founded by the charitable Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu.
On October 19 and 20, Tran Chau and other members of the “Happy Meal” project provided meals and other basic necessities to 250 children and the elderly at the May Ngan homeless shelter in the Cam Phong pagoda in Cam Giang. She said: “I am unafraid of challenges and ready to go to remote areas to meet and help needy communities.”
