Nguyen Thi Tran Chau finished 9th in the 2017 Miss Teen contest and also participated in the Miss Photogenic Vietnam competition in 2018, but withdrew for health reasons. In 2020, she entered the Miss Vietnam Beauty Pageant.

Tran Chau has just finished her second year at DTU. As Quang Nam and Danang are among the areas most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, her second term was interrupted and she had to stay at home.
“The Covid-19 pandemic is having a large impact on all our lives,” said Tran Chau. “My hometown and Danang in particular have had to temporarily close companies and the tourist industry. I would like to thank all the medical personnel who, day and night, make significant sacrifices and assume much risk. As a result, I believe that Vietnam will continue to stay ahead of the pandemic once again.”
Tran Chau stresses that we must fight the virus together and she and her family avoid going out, leave the house only when absolutely necessary, always monitor their health and make daily health declarations.

On her recent birthday, her entire family got together to blow out the candles and eat the cake. “Although my birthday was celebrated in limited space with only relatives, I still felt infinitely happy,” Tran Chau explained. “However, despite these difficult times, my close friends remembered to send me their best wishes on my special day.”
Since childhood, Tran Chau has dreamt of challenging herself to contribute to the community, which is why she decided to enter the 2020 Miss Vietnam contest.

“I feel that my compassion and desire to do good things in the community makes me most suited for the pageant,” said Tran Chau. “We can all become good people leading simple lives but, if we have influence, our impact will be multiplied.”
Her colleagues believe that Tran Chau is willing to visit faraway, under-privileged locations to spread human values, which is the objective of the contest. If she wins, she first wants to visit an orphanage because orphans are the most vulnerable of all. Normal children are loved and cared for by their parents and provided meals and a bed to sleep in. Orphans normally do not even know who their parents are, some are only six or seven years-old or younger and suffer much hardship. Tran Chau wants to spend some time with them.
