DTU International School CMU Students Defend their Capstone Projects

From May 15th to 17th, 104 K21 DTU International School CMU students, majoring in Software Engineering and Management Information Systems, successfully defended their Capstone projects in 25 groups.

Students of the DTU International School have the opportunity to study in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University, one of the top four American universities in IT, giving access to the latest information and teaching methods. With the full support from American professors and doctors, the students completed their theses successfully.  
 
The students were divided into groups; each handled one project and defended it completely in English. They presented their projects to the Graduate Defense Committees and answered the questions from the judges. Most of them were highly regarded for their careful preparation, the ability to present their theses in fluent English and their confidence in answering questions from the committee. Some outstanding and practical projects included “Mobile Based Face Recognition App for Attendance and Monitoring System V2”, “Swim Tracker Application”, and “Facebook Fanpage Management V2”.

The judges
 
Nguyen Dang Thien Tam, a student of class K21CMUTPM5, said: “We tried our best to come up with ideas, research, write algorithms, set up features, build a suitable interface and so on. Equipped with our knowledge and inspired by the enthusiasm of our lecturers, we completed the theses well. The additional ideas contributed by our teachers at the defense committee have helped us gain more knowledge and develop a really factual product.”
 
A lot of second-year and third-year CMU students attended the thesis defense in order to acquire more experience. The cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University has helped DTU students get access to the latest information and teaching methods, develop their English and social skills, and find many job opportunities.
