On October 16th, DTU partnered with the Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion of Danang Hospital to hold a blood donation day at its Hoa Khanh campus with the message “A drop of blood you give, a life stays”. The program is organized three times a year and attracts many students.
DTU students queue to give blood
Bui Thi Thao, a DTU graduate, said : “A large number of DTU students donate blood every year. At 6 a.m, the DTU Youth Union works with the hospital to make a good preparation for the blood donation program. Around 1,000 students registered to have blood sample taken, and more than 300 blood units were collected today, contributing to helping people in need”.
Nguyen Ngoc Hieu of class K20KDN1, who already had 10 blood donation certificates, shared: “I usually participate in the blood donation program at DTU. It is a charitable activity that can help patients and save many lives.”
The blood donation is an annual event at DTU
Huynh Thi Ly Uyen, a freshman of the DTU Foreign Languages, said: “Participating in the blood donation program is a good opportunity for students to contribute to the community. I am carefully advised on preparation before donating blood and I’m very happy when participating in charitable activities like this.”
