A Meeting with the Japanese ICT Delegation

On September 9th, a delegation of 160 representatives from 37 Japanese ICT enterprises visited DTU to collaborate on ICT training, as part of the “Japan - Danang Investment Collaboration in ICT Conference.
 
Participants were from Japanese Trade Promotion Centers, the Tokyo Business Association, the Japanese Business Association in Danang and investors, together with international and local companies. The purpose of the conference was to introduce delegates to Danang and attract more Japanese ICT companies to invest in the city’s development, to with business to expand the labor market.

The delegation expressed their interest in how to improve the quality and technical skills of IT personnel in Vietnam, how to teach them to communicate and learn about the Japanese culture, how to improve the Japanese language skills of DTU ICT students and inspire their interest in careers in Japan. The delegation also expressed their wish to step up collaboration in training and technology transfer with Vietnamese engineers.

Mr. Truong Tien Vu, Acting Dean of DTU Faculty of Information Technology, said: “In recent years, DTU has signed agreements with several Japanese companies and held seminars to broaden job opportunities for ICT students. Exchange meetings with ICT experts and businesses help students learn more about the Japanese labor market through practical examples. Students will have a better orientation for their future careers, and, in a dynamic, with its well-remunerated working environment and similar culture, working in Japan will definitely become a top priority for DTU ICT students.”
