The DTU 2015-2016 Closing Ceremony

On July 7th, DTU celebrated the Closing of the Year 2015-2016 and the 2016-2017 Planning Ceremony. Representatives of the Board of Provosts, department leaders, staff, lecturers and other personnel attended.

Reports were presented on topics including accreditation activities, training status and solutions, scientific research by the Institute for Research and Development, lecturer and student research, business collaboration, international collaboration and reviews of successes, difficulties and problems to be overcome by each department in 2015-2016. Recommendations were also made for 2016-2017.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost, gave an overview of the university’s achievements and challenges in education and research. Last year’s achievements were the result of the vision, pioneering spirit and innovation of the Boards of Trustees and of Provosts, backed by the lecturers and staff of the entire university.
 
2015-2016 also saw some notable achievements in research, training and student enrollment at DTU. 213 international papers were published by the staff of the Institute for Research and Development, lecturers and research students. 457 products were developed and 121 student research projects were authorized at the university level. DTU students were awarded 62 prizes in national contests and 4 internationally. Business collaboration is thriving and enrollment is meeting its targets.
 
“The DTU brand has been developing for 22 years now and is the foundation and motivation encouraging our dedicated lecturers to continue to earn the trust of parents, students and society,” said Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost. “To do so, every lecturer must push themselves to the limit and work hard in their studies and research to learn more and provide every student with a high-quality education. I believe that, with their intelligence, youthful energy, understanding and enthusiasm, everyone at our university will work together to keep Duy Tan strong and prepared for regional and international integration, to positively contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of our nation.”
