2012 CDIO IT Conference

In mid-October, the 2012 CDIO IT Conference has just been held by the DTU IT department, in conjunction with DTU International School and the Center of Testing and Quality Ensuring. Many IT lecturers and staff attended the meeting.

On behalf of the organizers, Mr.Truong Tien Vu, Dean of the IT Department, emphasized that "Implementation of the CDIO model plays a major role in the steady improvement of teaching quality at DTU, in order to bring key academic programs, especially in the study of IT, up to international standards. However, the successes of the implementation will greatly depend on the perception of the participants. This is the second time that the IT department has held a workshop for lecturers and staff to improve their awareness. The main technical topics presented at this meeting include such things as output standards, CDIO criteria, the CDIO draft of fundamentals and the CDIO method and implementation".

Three reports were presented at the conference, namely "A General Overview of the CDIO Method” and “Some Results and Recommendations of the 2012 Nationwide CDIO Conference" by Mr.Truong Tien Vu and "A Draft of CDIO Fundamentals and Criteria" by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy-Director of the Center for Testing and Quality Assurance, and "A Discussion on the Conception of CDIO and the implementation project assigned by the DTU IT CDIO Steering Committee" by Mr.Nguyen Duc Man, Dean of the Foreign Relations Department.
The free exchange of ideas by participants was greatly appreciated by the organizers who will pass on appropriate recommendations on ongoing CDIO implementation and follow-on projects to the CDIO Steering committee and the Board of Provosts.
