On the morning of June 22nd, 2010, the DTU Student Union kicked off the “Green Summer Campaign 2010”. Over one hundred young volunteers from the university participated.
The event took place from June 22 to 24 in the Hoa Khuong commune in Hoa Vang, Danang with the motto “ Creativity – Safety – Efficiency”. During the 3-day campaign, the volunteers helped provide clean water, sanitation and plants at the local martyrs’ cemetery, as well as teaching foreign languages and IT to the children. Some civil engineering students designed and constructed a house for an impoverished family.The Green Summer Campaign is one of the annual activities of DTU students and is a good occasion for students to take part in important activities, said Mr, Pham Dang Quang, Secretary of DTU’s Student Union at the ceremony.
Volunteer and charity work always attracts a large number of DTU students. The activities, such as blood donation, cleaning the streets, saving flooded residents and so on is becoming a permanent activity of the whole student body.
