In order to create a relaxing recreation ground for lecturers and staff, the Trade Union of Duy Tan University celebrated a Karaoke Contest on 8th July 2009.
Besides the participation of contestants, deans, leaders, Chairman of DTU’s Trade Union- Nguyen Duc Thanh, the contest also had the honor of welcoming the attendance of Mr Vo Thanh Hai-Vice Rector of DTU.
On behalf of the organization board, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh gave a speech to open the singing contest. There were 63 contestants taking part in 67 performances in 3 fields: man solo, woman solo and duet. After the opening speech, the contestants began their performances in an exciting atmosphere with their favorite songs. Most of the songs were about the love for country and people. The atmosphere of the contest was more interesting thanks to the cheers from the audience. This was also a chance to find more talents to push up the art movement among DTU’s staff in the coming time.
After the first round, 12 best contestants were selected to take part in the final round on 11th July 2009. The contest was not only a playground for DTU’s staff to show their talents but also a chance for them to meet and strengthen the solidarity before a summer vacation.
