Le Thi A Na, entering the Event & Entertainment Management course, scored 9.75 points for Literature, and loves books by Nguyen Nhat Anh
A Na was surprised by her near-perfect score of 9.75 in Literature and delighted to learn that she had been admitted to the DTU Hospitality & Tourism Institute. In the 12th grade, she won second prize in Literature at a provincial skilled-student contest and believes that achieving high scores requires passion, much textbook learning, and reading as many books and newspapers as possible.
A Na reads several types of books authored in Vietnam and abroad, to learn about human experiences, especially the way that the authors express and manifest their humanity through their works. She also loves books by Nguyen Nhat Anh, because of his witticism, combined with deep emotion, who has inspired her to read and write more and more.
A Na will begin her DTU studies in 2023
“To achieve high grades in Literature, I focus on preparing outlines before writing my essays, which allows me to write freely and follow my intuition,” explains A Na. “Furthermore, to gain attention in writing, you must link with reality, expand your ideas and be more creative, based on personal understanding. Also, avoid digressing from the topic in hand, be creative and fluent, and reason strongly, clearly and distinctively, all of which will set you above the other examinees and gain the highest grades.”
Before applying to DTU, A Na dedicated time researching DTU and her preferred major, talking to more senior current students, reading newspapers and sharing the information with her family. She then confidently chose to study at DTU and believes that the modern facilities, the dynamic learning environment, and the skilled lecturers will allow her to attain her career aspirations after four years of study.
“My family was happy to hear that DTU had awarded me a full scholarship,” said A Na, on her joy at being admitted to DTU and receiving the coveted scholarship. “Finally, after much demanding work and the encouragement of my parents, I have achieved my biggest goal, to be admitted to the university that I’ve long been dreaming of. I look forward to my arrival at the largest and most modern university of Central Vietnam, located in Danang, a city famous for its beauty and quality of life.”

However, studying is my top priority, so I must be self-disciplined and proactive, and use every available moment I have to study. My ambition is to have a steady job that is compatible with my interests, and, at the same time, help my parents and look after my younger siblings, which has motivated me to work hard to achieve my high HSGE grades.”
Ngoc Anh excels in social subjects and especially loves History, a subject that many students find difficult and boring. However, History is the subject in which Ngoc Anh has won impressive prizes in skilled-student level competitions, including:
- Third prize at school level in the 10th grade
- First prize at school level in the 11th grade
- Third prize at the provincial level in 12th grade
Besides her studies, Ngoc Anh’s hobbies are reading and learning about new things. “How to Win Friends and Influence People” is a book by Dale Carnegie and one of her favorites, about life experiences and positive thinking. It helps readers understand themselves and improve themselves in the real world. Meanwhile, Ngoc Anh loves the beauty of Vietnam and enjoys welcoming her counterparts from all over the world, which influenced her in her choice of study at DTU.
“I have an active and outgoing personality, and, through my work as a tour guide, I also want to discover even more about the beauty and people of my own country,” said Ngoc Anh. “The tourism sector is seen to be growing strongly, especially in this developing economy, so tour guide majors are always popular. Several other well-known universities offer hospitality majors, but my research convinced me that DTU has the most modern and dynamic educational environment, which suits my personality, interests and desires. In particular, DTU is located in Danang, the most livable city in Vietnam, which attracted me here, determined to choose DTU for my studies and to realize my future dreams and ambitions.”
