The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has contributed to changing human perception and life. Just like many other fields, in the field of Education, training activities must adapt to keep up with the real era, posing a significant question of how to adapt. In response to this reality, DTU held the seminar "Application of AI in training and academic research development in universities" on February 24, while also signing a cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud Intelligence to innovate and implement various activities in this field.

Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Provost, said: "The seminar 'Application of AI in training and academic research development in universities' is a highly anticipated event at DTU. In the rapidly developing AI era, many questions arise for all fields, including how universities should adapt to keep up with the real era being a major question.
AI will certainly bring benefits to education and research in general. At the present time, lecturers are familiarizing themselves with the effective use of AI for teaching and adjusting to suit the individual learners. DTU is currently using Chat GPT and AI applications to teach some courses in various faculties, including the Tourism Faculty, where the AI 'lecturers' provide answers that are just as good as those of real lecturers when asked questions. Although this AI application is still somewhat passive in that it only responds when asked questions, I believe that in the future, changes to improve this issue will not be difficult.
I hope that the seminar 'Application of AI in training and academic research development in universities' will be an opportunity for me and my colleagues to meet, listen and share new useful knowledge for teaching and research.”
The seminar becomes a forum for scientists to exchange ideas, discuss AI-related issues, and promote research and applications that are crucial in training quality human resources for higher education institutions.

During the event, many practical issues were discussed, such as: AI application in innovating teaching methods and developing research in universities, AI technology infrastructure for universities, AI application in job creation, ethical and legal issues when using AI, forecasting AI development trends.
Many insights were analyzed from the perspectives of experts right at the seminar such as:
- "Artificial Intelligence, the exponential technology in the future and development trends" by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, President of FISU Vietnam.
- "AI application in innovating teaching methods and developing research in universities" by Dr. Dang My Chau, Education expert at Microsoft.
- "Application of Generative AI in work" by Mr. Doan Viet Hung, Marketing Manager of Vietnam market.
- "Ethical and legal issues related to AI usage" by Dr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, Director of Da Nang Department of Information and Communication,
FISU Vietnam Chairman Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy said: "AI is no longer just a technology field but has become an industry that brings 'money' to the world. Therefore, countries interested in AI are not only stopping at research activities but also considering it as a strategy for future development. It can be said that we are in a very important period, which is the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We in the Information Technology industry are very proud to contribute directly to the socio-economic development from the Third Industrial Revolution with achievements in Computerization and Automation. Faced with the challenges and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, many countries have directions to develop platforms and build new strategies. Vietnam has also been following the development path by making strong advancements in Technology, specifically in the field of AI."
Signing Ceremony of Cooperation between DTU and Alibaba Cloud Intelligence
After the seminar, DTU signed a cooperation agreement with Alibaba Cloud Intelligence to establish various activities. These include:
- Establishing partnership relations in the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Program (AAEP)
- Collaborating to nurture local talents with technological capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit
- Working together to help educators and students develop practical technology skills to meet the needs in Vietnam and other countries
- Collaborating to organize cross-regional tours, activities, and competitions to broaden students' global vision, innovation, and digitization
- The Alibaba Cloud Academy will provide necessary advice and support with various cloud technologies to support the future development of DTU in innovation, green digital collaboration nationwide, and various Smart Education initiatives.
The implemented activities will significantly contribute to the advancement of AI research and applications, making an important contribution to training quality human resources to serve society in the future.
