Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu said: “On behalf of DTU, I’d like to express my gratitude to the recruiters who have trusted us and worked with us so far. Over the past 29 years, the DTU motto has been: ‘All for student education and employment’. During that time, the university has made sustained efforts to connect with local businesses to broaden internship and career opportunities for our graduates, which culminated in the DTU Job Day. For the past 15 years, we have collaborated with the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to organize this event and, two years ago, we upgraded it from Job Day to Job Week in order to meet student needs and socioeconomic requirements. I hope that the ties between DTU and local companies will become even stronger in the future.”
Since its inception, 850 recruiters have attended the fair from Danang and elsewhere, with 23,500 students applying for 22,000 positions. Annually, DTU provides local employers with 3,000 to 5,000 applicants.
This year, 215 domestic and foreign businesses participated, including 15 founded by DTU alumni. With 5,000 positions available, the 3-day event focused on recruiting from key disciplines including IT; Engineering & Technology; Economics; Health Sciences; International Training; Tourism; Foreign Languages; and Social Humanities, scheduled on:
- June 17, for students of International School and Technology & Computer Science
- June 21, for students of Economics, Health Science and International School
- June 23, for students of Hospitality, Foreign Languages and Social Sciences
Mr. Nguyen The Tai said: “DTU is a major university graduating highly trained resources into our regional workforce. We have been honored to sign a cooperation agreement with DTU in the field of Multimedia, Graphics and Games, enabling us to introduce new technologies and advanced training programs for Information Technology students. Consequently, we hope that the university will provide us with qualified engineers for our further growth.”
Mr. Nguyen The Tai
DTU Career Week primarily targets final-year students, but many others attend to gain experience and plan their studies to secure good positions at leading companies. Students are able to identify their ideal working environment and learn more about the current local labor market. Workshops at the fair focus on topics such as job searching, career orientation and skills discussions, including how to be recruited by an IT company, a mock skills interview and the importance of software testing.
