Webometrics has just published its ranking of universities worldwide of July 2022. 184 Vietnamese universities have been ranked this year, which is 6 more than in last year’s ranking.
The top Vietnamese universities, ranked by Webometrics
The top 10 of Vietnamese universities:
1. Vietnam National University - Hanoi (758th worldwide)
2. Ton Duc Thang University (1,015th worldwide)
3. Duy Tan University (1,092nd worldwide)
4. Hanoi University of Science and Technology (1,334th worldwide)
5. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (1,625th worldwide)
6. Ho Chi Minh University of Industry (1,776th worldwide)
7. Nguyen Tat Thanh University (1,806 worldwide)
8. University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (2,048th worldwide)
9. Can Tho University (2,207th worldwide)
10. University of Danang (2,212th worldwide)
Vietnam National University - Hanoi (VNU), Ton Duc Thang University, and Duy Tan University maintain their top-three ranking of leading Vietnamese universities year after year. Particularly:
- Vietnam National University - Hanoi retained its first rank in Vietnam and climbed 186 places to rank 758th worldwide.
- Ton Duc Thang moved up 59 places to rank 1,015th worldwide.
- The third place belongs to Duy Tan University in 1,092nd position worldwide.
The Hanoi University of Science and Technology retained its fourth rank in Vietnam but dropped 12 places to rank 1,334th worldwide.
The other universities all climbed in the ranking, including the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (moving up 119 places to 1,626th worldwide), the Ho Chi Minh University of Industry (rising 108 places to 1,776th worldwide), Nguyen Tat Thanh (jumping 187 places to 1,806th worldwide), the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (rising 272 places to 2,048th worldwide) and the University of Danang (rising 126 places to 2,212th worldwide).
Vietnamese universities ranked by Webometrics
The HCM City University of Technology and Education dropped out of the top 10 while Can Tho University rose from 16th to 9th in Vietnam, and to the 2,207th position worldwide.
Other non-public universities ranked by Webometrics in July 2022 are RMITH University: 35th in Vietnam and 6,211th worldwide; HUTECH: 50th and 7,267th; FPT University: 55th and 8,566th; Van Lang University: 69th and 9,952nd; VinUniversity: 62nd and 9,434th and Hoa Sen University: 81st and 11,628th respectively.
Since 2004, the Webometrics Ranking has been published twice a year, surveying 31,000 institutions worldwide. The Webometrics Ranking is currently using the following measurement factors:
- Impact (or Visibility) (50%): Number of external networks (subnets) linking to the institution’s web pages. Data is collected from Ahref and Majestic.
- Openness (or Transparency) (10%): Number of citations from scientific reports in the Google Scholar database.
- Excellence (40%): Number of papers in the top 10% most cited.
