On October 24, the DTU International School held a seminar entitled: "The IT Workforce - Opportunities and Challenges". Attendees included Mr. Vy Van Viet, Deputy Chairperson of Danang Software Business Association and Director of iViettech; Mr. Bui Duc Minh, CEO of MIND (Smart IoT), Danang; Dr. Nguyen Duc Man, Director of the DTU International School; DTU lecturers, staff and students.
Rapid technology development has broadened career opportunities for IT students worldwide, with a diversity of jobs ranging from banking, aviation, telecommunications, corporate, national security to healthcare. New opportunities also mean new challenges.

Mr. Vy Van Viet, Deputy Chairperson of the Danang Software Business Association and Director of iViettech said: “Today, teaching and graduating knowledgeable and professional English-speaking IT staff to meet ever increasingly worldwide demand is a matter of great concern. IT students must constantly keep up to date on the latest technology trends, and be able to work diligently, alone or in teams to get the best jobs, salaries and promotions."
Two of the speakers outlined the qualities that prospective employers were looking for and the related opportunities and challenges graduates are facing finding positions in IT.

The seminar provided an overview of IT human resource needs and career opportunities and challenges and a better understanding of development trends in the fields of IoT, Big Data, Security and so on.
Finally, experts answered questions, emphasizing that IT students must proactively improve their foreign language reading ability and participate in online training programs to broaden their knowledge to meet strict and evolving employer demands.
