DTU Software Engineering and Information Security Graduates are Heavily Sought After

Recruiters selectively test potential employees in search of the most skilled qualified software engineers, despite the overwhelming demand for qualified staff in the age of Information Technology. DTU graduates majoring in Information Technology are guaranteed employment immediately and, meanwhile, the university has been continually upgrading the quality of its facilities, programs and lecturers. DTU also partners with local companies to offer internships and, recently, DTU’s Software Engineering and Information Security courses have caught the attention of many likely candidates.

DTU candidates are eager to study Information Technology

Over the past few years, as a result of DTU’s rising reputation, all Software Engineering graduates specializing in Software Engineering; CMU International-Standard Software Engineering; and Multimedia & Game Design, and all DTU CMU International-Standard Network Security graduates secured jobs immediately. DTU also works with many local companies to arrange internships, including FPT Software; MGM; BAP; CodeComplete; Enclave; LogiGear; Axon Active; LG, DAC Tech; Sun; Viettel; VNPT-IT; TMA; KMS; Global Cybersoft; RikkeiSoft; Saigon Technology Solutions; Data House; and VnCert, who may then recruit promising students to work for them officially, even prior to graduation.

For several years, DTU has also graduated many highly skilled workers into Network Administration and Information Security jobs. Most of the Information Security graduates become professional penetration tester  in major businesses nationwide, including VNCERT; VNPT Security; the Danang ICT Infrastructure Development Center in the Danang Department of Information and Communications; the Gia Lai Department of Information and Communications; VIB International Bank HCMC; FPT Software HCMC; and FPT Software Danang.

Ngo Viet Hoang majored in Software Engineering and is now working at Google in the US, Nguyen Thi Duong Truc majored in Management Information Systems and is working at FPT Software as a Software Tester, and Do Bao Linh, who majored in Software Engineering, at NTT-Data.

DTU is developing internationally standardized programs to satisfy the demands of the IT industry

To meet this challenge, DTU has worked on improving the quality of Software Engineering and Information Security education. Since 2008, DTU has collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University, one of the leading IT universities in the US, to share international curricula. DTU uses the CDIO (Conceive; Design; Implement; Operate) teaching method, which has been implemented by universities worldwide to encourage students to take a greater interest in their majors, study more actively and learn more thoroughly.

MSc. Nguyen Kim Tuan, Dean of the DTU Faculty of Communication and Computer Network Engineering stated: “From the very first year, students learn the basics of Network Engineering or Cyber Security and can practice on the Open-lab system at DTU, which was built according to IBM standards and resembles the real world. Actual exercises in cybersecurity threats are used and explained by expert lecturers.”

DTU has invested in the most modern labs and facilities so that students can come to grips with the latest developments of the 4.0 era. They receive constant support in their research projects from lecturers with PhD and Master’s degrees from universities around the world, who regularly participate in domestic and international training courses to broaden their experience.
