DTU Lecturer Awarded the Title of Associate Professor

Dr. Hoang Ngoc Ha, from DTU, was one of 300 qualified candidates in Vietnam to be awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2021. He is currently a researcher at the DTU Institute for Research and Development and an Electrical and Electronic Engineering lecturer, who graduated from the University of Lyon in France in 2011 with a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Automatic Control. 
 
His main research projects now concern: The Theory of Dynamic Control Systems; Passive Control Systems; Process Control; Thermodynamics and Controls; and State Monitor Design.
 
The State Council for Professorships announced its 2021 awards, with 39 academics obtaining the title of Professor and 300 Associate Professorships. Most candidates had already published papers in international journals indexed by ISI or Scopus and made significant accomplishments in the field of graduate and postgraduate education.
 
Dr. Hoang Ngoc Ha has published 34 research papers, including 12 in internationally indexed journals, 15 in international Scopus conference proceedings and 7 in national journals, achieving a total citation count of 550 and an h-index of 11. 
 
In particular, his article in the "Computers & Chemical Engineering" journal in 2020, published in collaboration with Dr. Diogo Rodrigues from the University of California Berkeley and Professor Dominique Bonvin from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, is highly regarded by scientists in that field. 
 
Dr. Hoang Ngoc Ha has mentored Nafosted postgraduates and participated in two ministerially funded national projects and two local ones. He also led one institutionally funded Nafosted project, entitled "Unbalanced Thermodynamic Connections and a Hamiltonian Study of the Optimal Operation of Single or Multi-Phase Dynamic Systems".

Associate Professor Hoang Ngoc Ha said: “I am happy and honored. In addition to my effort, the support of my family and colleagues at DTU has enabled me acclimatize to the working environment here and conduct my research. I plan to promote local and international partnerships, develop a DTU research team and new research projects to improve the quality of education at the university and transfer that technology to serve the community.”
