Launch Ceremony of “Schneider Go Green 2021” and a Startup Training Program

On January 7, the DTU Startup Center launched the “2021 Schneider Go Green” contest and collaborated with the DTU Youth Union to hold a Startup Training program for the Youth Union, Student Association and Startup Club for students to demonstrate their ability to generate innovative ideas to solve community issues.

Mr. Pham Quoc Hai, Human Resources Manager of Schneider Electric Vietnam, MSc. Pham Huu Tam, CEO of the Vietnam Green Biotechnology Company, Dr. Truong Tien Vu, Director of the DTU Science Management Department and Startup Center, MSc. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Chairman of the DTU Student Association, the DTU Youth Union and Student Association attended. 
 
Mr. Pham Quoc Hai, Human Resources Manager of Schneider Electric Vietnam, said: “Schneider Electric is an international company in the field of energy management and industrial automation. The bold ideas of students will help us build a smarter and more stable future. Because of this, we have launched the “Schneider Go Green” contest for students to present their creative and unique ideas, develop potential projects and contribute to worldwide energy development. Selected projects will receive professional advice from Schneider Electric experts.”    
       
Contestants choose from one of five categories:
 
- Access to Energy
- Homes of the Future
- Plants of the Future
- Grids of the Future
- Decoding the Future
 
The timeline of the 2021 contest:
 
- March 7: Submissions with project proposals
- March 19: Finals of the Vietnamese contest
- March 26: Announcement of the Vietnamese winners
- April: Advising teams entering the Asian finals
- From April 26 to 30: Finals of the Asia region contest
- From April to June: Advising the winning Asian teams
- In June: Global finals of the Schneider Go Green 2021

Members of the DTU Youth Union, Student Association and Startup Club
 
Dr. Truong Tien Vu, Director of the DTU Science Management Department and Startup Center, gave information on innovative start-ups, explained the concept of entrepreneurship and gave some examples of DTU start-up projects that have received investment capital, including “FWP - Food Waste Pressure” and “Smart Beds”, to enable students to came up with ideas, products, refine them and build business models. MSc. Pham Huu Tam then shared his experiences. 
 
The two-day training program was packed with content, including introductions to entrepreneurship and startup activities, the introduction of the Coaching Diagram, problem-solving methods, planning theory, teamwork, the generation and presentation of startup ideas, the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and project presentation method, and the evaluation and issuance of certificates.
