Wants to live in Danang for a long time

Hamid Khan was born and raised in a big family of six and his parents worked hard to make ends meet throughout his childhood, so he decided not to go to university but attended several short-term training courses in order to find a job and live on his own. He has since had several jobs, as delivery driver, a construction worker, a chef’s assistant and a customer assistant for four years at Marks & Spencer’s, the popular department store. Recently Hamid has been teaching English online, after gaining a level 5 CELTA Cambridge certificate to teach English as a second language.

Over the past two years of living in Vietnam, Hamid Khan has spent time learning more about the local culture, the food and the lifestyle. "I certainly made the right decision in choosing Danang as the place to settle down and by enrolling at Duy Tan University in Danang. Danang has unique river bridges, charming beaches, delicious food and the people are very friendly and hospitable. I love it and want to live here for a long time," he said.

A friend of Hamid, a graduate of Duy Tan University, knew he might be interested in studying for a university degree. He was researching other cities but she reassured him that Danang had the same opportunities, so Hamid took her advice. He drove by DTU one day and saw many students, including foreigners, walking in and out. He was energized and wondered what it would be like to be one of them.

It’s never too late to learn

I have never studied for a degree before, that is why I want to do it now, I believe that it is never too late!”

Since Hamid Khan has experience in Marketing and decides to enroll in Strategic Marketing at Duy Tan University. His whole family supported his decision and knew he could do it. He has never met his full potential previously and hopes to reach it during his 4 years at Duy Tan University and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree.

"I am delighted to be able to study with foreign students from the Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Taiwan and Laos and will always stay positive, patient and work hard to realize my goals", he said.

In preparation, Hamid Khan has spent much time studying Vietnamese and, despite the difficulties and challenges, he will definitely enjoy Duy Tan University. His resilience, unlimited passion and effort will carry him through.
