On November 9, DTU held a workshop entitled “Good things take time”. Attendees included Mr. Phan The Duc, Director of the TOCPPION Group of central Vietnam, Mr. Truong Tien Vu, Director of DTU Startup center, Ms. Nguyen Huu Nhi, Campus Director of Hult Prize DTU staff and students.

The workshop is one of a series of Hult Prize events. Mr. Phan The Duc talked about startup models, customer development, the value of customer perceived value, the startup circle and how to learn from failure. He also taught how to write a business plan; the core business values for success, the development and evolution of Startups, choosing the right customers and customer psychology. This informative workshop helped students in building effective management models and accumulating more experience, in preparation for the 2021 Hult prize.
Mr. Phan The Duc said: “When you start your business, in addition to knowledge, experience, capital and relationships, you must have right strategy, skills and believe in yourself, which will all help you pursue your dream and overcome all obstacles on your journey.”
A startup ideas competition was the highlight of the workshop. Each team consisted of seven to eight students and their ideas were based on one of eleven suggestions, on food safety and hygiene, good harvests but low pricing, import and export issues, nutrient-rich foods, unsustainable agricultural planning in Vietnam, the education and qualifications of farmers, and climate change. Then teams gave a five-minute presentation. Winners were Team 1, with their Smart Garden app, and Team 8, with their inorganic waste as fertilizer project.
