DTU Vice-Provost Vo Thanh Hai overviewed the 2020 DTU enrollment policy. The admissions registration deadline for the 2020 National HSGE and University admission was June 30.  There was a minor change in this year’s criteria. Under the new regulations, examinees can choose either the Natural Sciences or Social Sciences test, whichever one will enable them to achieve a better score.

There will be three admission options for applicants when enrolling in DTU, based on:

-    Results of the 2020 National HSGE
-    High school transcripts: grade 12 average scores or early grade 11 and first term grade 12 results

For transcript-based admission, applicants can register online via: http://tuyensinh.duytan.edu.vn

During the broadcast, viewers asked questions about enrollment criteria, scholarship policies and others. The first question related to the advanced international majors. Dr. Trinh Le Tan said that DTU has partnered with many well-known universities worldwide to share their internationally-standardized programs. Among these are:

-   Carnegie Mellon University, one of the leading universities in Information Technology in the US, offering CMU standard Software Engineering, Information System Management and Information Security programs.

-  Pennsylvania State University, one of the leading universities in Economics & Business Management, offering PSU standard Business Administration, Accounting, Finance-Banking, Hospitality & Tourism and Tourism & Travel Management programs.

-   California State University Fullerton and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, leading west coast universities in Construction and Architecture, offering the first CSU standard Architecture & Civil Engineering program in the Central Region.

-   Purdue University, a top American university in Engineering and Technology, offering an advanced PNU standard program in Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics.

On Facebook, Van Anh asked whether DTU offered a “Study in Vietnam for an American degree” program. MSc. Le Thi Khanh Hoa explained that DTU partners with some other American universities to implement the 4+0 On-Site Study-Abroad program, allowing students to graduate with advanced international degrees, without leaving Vietnam and of equal value to a degree obtained by those studying in America full-time. Partners include Keuka College, for a Business Administration major, and Troy University, for Hospitality Management and Software Engineering.

Another viewer wanted to know when DTU would send out admission results. Dr. Nguyen Phi Son replied that for high-school transcript based admissions, applicant grades for their chosen subject set must meet the following criteria:

-   All majors: a total average 3-subject grade of 18 or more
-   Nursing major: a total grade of 3 subjects reaching 18.5 or more, (applicants who graduated high school cum laude or higher, or with high-school grades under consideration of at least 6.5
-   Pharmacy and Doctor of Odonto-Stomatology majors: a three-subject score of at least 24, (high school cum laude or higher applicants, or those with high-school grades under consideration of at least 8.0)

Admission notices for high-school transcript based applicants will be sent by September 4 at the latest. When applicants receive their temporary high school graduation certificates, DTU will send them admission notices.

Another viewer, My Tran, wanted to know more about the DTU Talented Education programs. Mr. Bui Duc Anh answered that: “In 2020, students can apply for 10 Talented Education majors, including Financial Management, Business Administration, Strategic Marketing Administration, Logistic & Supply Chains Management, Vietnam Tourism Culture, Big Data & Machine Learning, Management Accounting, Artificial Intelligence, Business Law and International Relations.
The Talent programs were created to attract the best students to lead in the industrialization and modernization of Vietnam. They are educated in Informatics, are fluent in English, with strong reasoning, creative and visionary skills. The program is taught by foreign lecturers and, with many international students also in attendance, the multicultural environment encourages broad interaction amongst globally-oriented students.
