DTU was first authorized to offer a General Practitioner major in 2015, due to the shortage of qualified medical and healthcare professionals in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. The curriculum was approved by the Military Medical University.

Consequently, students interested in studying Medicine then had a new, dependable university to apply to. So far, DTU has enrolled three classes of General Practitioner students and, in 2018, added a new Odontoid-Stomatology major, making this year’s welcoming ceremony an extra-special one for all.

The older students presented flowers and words of thanks to their lecturers. Studying Medicine takes longer than other disciplines, with much constant hard work, but students help each other, share their difficulties and realize their dreams together.

Students of the DTU Faculty of Medicine are dedicated to studying, but also spend time and energy participating in extra-curricular artistic and sports activities. At the welcoming, entertaining amateur performers sang and danced to guitars and drums, and the older students joined them onstage wearing the white uniforms that characterize the medical profession, in recognition of the K24 freshmen about to start their studies, to help them quickly integrate into their new environment.

Finally, there was a short film, written and produced by the students of classes K21, K22, and K23. Its theme was that, “Any difficulty can be overcome, any mountain climbed, any river crossed. All it takes is willpower from each of you. And of course, becoming a doctor is the most important objective of all. And we all know, on this journey we can join hands and get through the rough times together to make our dreams come true!”
