Students of First Graphic Design Course Defend Their Graduation Theses

On May 25, the 32 students of the first Graphic Design course at DTU successfully defended their graduation theses. With the knowledge and soft skills they acquired at DTU, these Bachelors of Graphic Design are in a perfect position to obtain good job offers and found startups in advertising, design, and media - fields which are very popular among young people nowadays.

Students of the first Graphic Design course defended their graduation theses

DTU trains its Graphic Design students with a high-quality educational program based on Singapore Polytechnic’s majors of Industrial Design and Media Design. DTU furthermore signed an agreement with the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Art to support each other in training, to start a new Fine Arts program, and to exchange academic expertise in applied arts. Although the graduates are the first of DTU’s Graphic Design major, they already received high appreciation from experts and businesses in the field for their professional knowledge and skills as well as for their meeting market requirements.

Graphic Design students confidently answering the questions of the jury

At the graduation defense, the Graphic Design students were highly appreciated for their confidence, their fluent presentations, their grasp of expert knowledge, and their good answers to critical questions. The graduation theses of these 32 first Graphic Design students were appreciated for their high esthetic appeal and their high practical applicability, such as projects for brand identity, packaging design, motion graphics, and game character design and animation. The formats the students chose for their graduation theses are also diverse, from 2D graphic design and 2D and 3D animation to website design, short films, and music for music videos.

“The graduation theses of the students of DTU’s first Graphic Design class are very diverse in subject,” says Mr Tran Anh Tien. “The students combined theory, creative ideas, and design tools like Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effect, Premier, 3DsMax, or Maya rather well to transmit their message through beautiful and impressive images that go straight to the heart. With the diploma of Graphic Design from DTU, they will have many job opportunities at positions like design consultant at advertising companies, media companies or event organizers, art studios, animation and comic book studios, newspaper editing, publishers, televisions, newspapers, etc. Several of the Graphic Design students already received attractive job interview offers from domestic and foreign companies, such as Gameloft, Ylinkee, Techcube, Rong Tien Sa, Nui Than Tai, Silver Swallow Studios, and several other media and advertising companies.”
