Mr. Doron Lebovich introduced Israel and its people and explained how Israel turned itself into a startup nation. He said, “Despite being a small country of only 8 million, Israel has about 5,000 startup companies and ranks second in growth annually. We severely lack natural resources, because 60% of our country is desert, so water shortage is our major problem. We must be optimistic and enterprising and especially ensure an adequate food supply for survival. However, Israel now already produces 95% of its requirements”.

There are many reasons for Israel’s success as a start-up nation, including a system of some of the best universities in the world, focusing on technology. The government and companies actively encourage, finance and mentor the younger generation, which promotes an environment of diversification in a variety of fields, benefitting from the mixture of the cultures.
