The “Innovate Like a Swede” contest is held annually by the Embassy of Sweden, the Ministry of Education & Training and the Ministry of Science and Technology, to inspire Vietnamese students to be innovative and discover tangible solutions to reach the goal of “Responsible and Sustainable Production and Consumption”. The contest is one of a series of global development objectives in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Mr. Johan Alvin, Second Secretary at the Embassy, said: “Vietnam has been facing many challenges in sustainable development, but there is also an opportunity for young people to be innovative and to think outside of the box to make positive changes in the community. This is something that we want to encourage through the contest.”
Open until November 11, entries are judged based on their feasibility and commercial viability, the degree of innovation and potential level of impact. The winning team will be rewarded with a study visit to Swedish companies’ regional headquarters in Singapore next year and runners-up will receive internships at Swedish companies in Hanoi, Danang and HCMC.
