DTU Welcomes K23 Students

DTU organized the 2017-2018 academic year Opening Ceremony to welcome K23 students at the Trung Vuong Theatre in Danang city on September 14th.

Distinguished Teacher, Hero of Labor Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new K23 students to DTU today. Over the past twenty-three years, DTU has gained impressive achievements in international collaboration, education quality and scientific research. We now seek national and international accreditation from bodies, such as ABET, ACBSP and VNWTO. Meanwhile, the University is aiming to enter the Time Higher Education Top 300 ranking of Asian universities by 2022. We are going to face numerous difficulties on the road to building our renowned university, however I believe that with sustained efforts and dedication, we will overcome all challenges and reach new heights.” 

Over the years, DTU has steadily enhanced the quality of internal education, supplemented by partnerships with renowned institutions worldwide.  The quality of the DTU advanced programs, the On-Site Study-Abroad and Overseas-Study programs have now been fully recognized by the student body. The CMU program has been developed jointly with Carnegie Mellon University, one of the leading American universities in IT; the PSU program with Pennsylvania State University, one of the top American universities in Economics and Business Administration; the CSU program with California State University Fullerton, the largest school in the California State University system, and with Cal Poly, one of the leading American universities in the study of Architecture.  

 
DTU signs an agreement with Hue Central Hospital 
 
On February 20th, DTU officially became the first private university in Vietnam to receive a Certificate of National Education Quality. The University will now seek national and international accreditation from other bodies, such as ABET, ACBSP and ACPHA. Meanwhile, the University is aiming to enter the Time Higher Education Top 300 rankings of Asian universities by 2022. 

DTU is collaborating with several well-known universities in the USA to develop advanced academic programs and On-Site Study-Abroad programs, to continue improving the quality of its education. In 2017, DTU signed an agreement with Troy University to offer a Bachelor’s degree program in Hospitality and Hotel Management and in IT, a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration with Keuka College and an advanced program in Electronic Engineering and Mechatronics with Purdue University. 

On this occasion, DTU signed an agreement with Hue Central Hospital for DTU students of Pharmacology and Nursing to practice there, using the most advanced facilities and procedures.

The Board of Trustees presented Certificates of Merit and laptops to five DTU valedictorians and eleven outstanding high-scoring new students. Awards and Certificates of Merits were also presented to the five students who won prizes in national and international competitions in June 2017, including Le Dinh Nhat Khanh - the CDIO Academy 2017 Winner Cup at the 2017 CDIO Academy Competition in Canada; Nguyen Cong Tin and Nguyen Thi Thanh - the champions of Go Green in the City 2017 - Green Solutions for the City; Tran Cong Minh and Hoang Yen - with a Third prize of Go Green in the City 2017 in HCM City.
 
The Board of Provosts also awarded four disadvantaged students full scholarships to cover their entire tuition for all four years at DTU, to help them realize their dreams of a higher education. 

The K23 Valedictorian Le Thi Thu Ngan, who enrolled in the Troy University Hospitality and Hotel Management On-Site Study-Abroad degree program, said: “I chose DTU for its high quality education and modern, dynamic environment and I am now certain that I have made the right choice. I will work hard in my studies to realize my dreams.“
