Aspiring to a major
Ngoc Trinh loves Chemistry and often discusses it online with friends. On Facebook, she has learned about unfortunate, hospitalized people who suffer from prolonged, incurable diseases. This drove Trinh to enroll in the four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy program at DTU, to help them, especially the elderly and children.
Do Ngoc Trinh enrolls at DTU
Trinh was born in the Gò N?i district in Quang Nam province and her parents are poor farmers. Her older sister and younger brother had to leave school early to earn money for their family, so they have great expectations for Trinh, as she is the only one in the family to pursue higher education. Trinh has been studying hard and has made impressive achievements in high school, including second prize in Mathematics in the Provincial Excellent student contest. Her parents are so happy that she has become DTU Valedictorian in Pharmacology and Trinh says: “The starting point is not really the deciding factor, you must have great determination to achieve your goals. I will try my best to do well and become a good communal citizen. By choosing to study Pharmacy, I want to dedicate myself to learning about the medicines and procedures that will help me to ease the pain of my patients.”
Trusting DTU implicitly
When DTU lecturers visited Trinh’s school recently, they talked about the wide range of majors available and convinced her to apply. After investigating the DTU courses and extra-curricular activities, Trinh is now certain that she has made the right choice by selecting the Pharmacy program to widen her future career opportunities.
When we asked Trinh for some study tips, she said: “I don’t actually use any particular study method. I have a great passion for Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology and conduct my research on the internet, through teachers and friends. Most of all, I want to advise high school students to first select the best educational environment available and then carefully identify your major. Aspiration leads the way”.
