On behalf of DTU Board of Provosts, Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh extended a warm welcome to the German Ambassador and delegates and gave a brief presentation about DTU’s development over the past 22 years. He said:  “DTU has provided the city with highly-qualified graduates in various fields. To enhance the quality of education, DTU has partnered with many renowned universities worldwide to introduce advanced curricula and send students abroad for further study. DTU has encouraged research development, with 700 publications published in national and international journals, of which over 400 were ISI/SCI papers. Distinguished Teacher and Hero of Labor, Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, became one of twenty leading citizens of Danang to be honored in commemoration of its 20th anniversary as a centrally-governed city. Recently, DTU became the first private university in Vietnam to receive a Certificate of National Education Quality, granted by the Center for Education Accreditation. Your visit is very important to us. Germany has become a key destination for students seeking an international education and scholarships and we look forward to receiving further help from all of you in the future.”

Ambassador Berger stressed that Germany and Vietnam have cooperated in many fields, especially in the economy, culture, science and education. However, most German investments have been made in Hanoi and HCM city. Over the years, DAAD and the appropriate Vietnamese authorities have closely collaborated to broaden scholarship opportunities for Vietnamese research students and DAAD scholarship programs always give top priority to Vietnamese students. He anticipated that, after this visit to Danang, bilateral cooperation would improve, especially in the field of research.

After their meeting, the delegates visited DTU laboratories and Molecular Biology Center.
