From December 12th to 17th, DTU and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) held a “Train-the-Trainers” course and twenty lecturers from Van Lang University and the DTU International School and Information Technology Faculty attended.
Since 2008, DTU has collaborated with Carnegie Mellon University - the top four leading IT universities in the US, to offer advanced international programs in Software Engineering, Information Systems and Network Security.

Many DTU lecturers have visited Carnegie Mellon University for intensive training courses and, this year, the training course was held at DTU, so that more lecturers from DTU and Van Lang University could attend. The course was taught by Associate Professor. David B. Root, Senior Lecturer from the CMU Institute of Software Research.

The training course focused on introducing the software Industry in general, the role of managers, managing customer expectations, managing risks, monitoring and supervising plans for software projects and so on. Attendees learned more about project management procedures, based on planning, monitoring and controlling risk. Professor Root provided examples from Google, Facebook and Microsoft to give a deeper understanding of the contents.
