On November 19th, DTU celebrated its 21st Anniversary and the 33rd Vietnamese Teacher’s Day at the Trung Vuong theatre. Duy Tan University is confidently entering its 22nd year of growth, after changing its status from a people-founded university to private one.
Duy Tan University was founded 21 years ago, under the Decision No 666-QÐTTg on 11/11/1994 by the late Prime Minister, Mr. Vo Van Kiet. In January 1995, DTU officially started its operation under the Decision No 339-QÐ/GD&ÐT on 23/1/1995 signed by Professor. Tran Hong Quan, the former Minister of MOET.
Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost, recalled at the event that this was a major turning-point for DTU, marking a new milestone on the road to the next stage of its development.
As a pioneer in innovation, with great effort and determination, DTU has made a major mark during its development as the first and largest private university in the Central Region. DTU is now a multi-level, multi-discipline university, providing highly-qualified graduates of international standard to various lines of business, to accelerate the industrialization and modernization of Vietnam.

DTU was also the very first private university to be approved by MOET to offer a PhD program in Business Administration in May 2013.

The DTU Board of Provosts expressed their deep gratitude to the generations of lecturers who have taught at DTU over the past 21 years of its development. The university presented awards to outstanding lecturers and staff and especially acknowledged the researchers, such as Dr. Ho Khac Hieu, who is the youngest academic in Vietnam to be granted an Associate Professorship.
Having achieved so much already from its strategy of "Partnering with Giants", Duy Tuan University will continue collaborating with famous universities in the US, the UK, Singapore and other countries to offer DTU students advanced international programs, send them to study abroad and also offer students On-Site Study-Abroad programs here at DTU.
The university will continue its preferential policies to attract talents to improve the quality and quantity of its people. More faculty lecturers, Professors, Associate Professors or PhDs, will be invited to teach at DTU.
The ceremony was named “November - Flowers”. DTU students presented a musical performance. They sang songs which praised DTU, their teachers and expressed their love of Vietnam. DTU’s 21 years of development were encapsulated by a beautiful symphony entitled “Duy Tan University”, composed by Professor Pham Vinh Quang.
