More than
ever, the slogan “The Duy Tan Dream - Let’s Broaden Our Intellect for a Brighter
Future” has become an incentive for all DTU staff, lecturers and students
to work harder and harder for success, in commemoration of the 20th
anniversary of the University’s founding. The finals of the 2013 DTU Student Talents & Beauty Contest took place on the evening of December 30th at Trung Vuong
Theatre and attracted a big audience.

Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, said:
“As we welcome in 2014, we look back to the past 19 years of our development
to appreciate our achievements as well the difficulties we have faced. We have
worked hard for 'The Duy Tan Dream'. Our sustained efforts to overcome those obstacles
will make our dreams come true. Significantly, DTU has always received much support
from local governments and agencies, from local business and from national and foreign
educational institutions. As the important day approaches, every member of DTU
should remember to dedicate themselves to achieving 'The Duy Tan Dream', in honor
of their careers in teaching.”

Le Nguyen Tue Hang awards Certificates of Merit to winners of the 2013 FDTU Singing
Contest
2013 marked significant achievements
for DTU students in national and international competitions. The DTU Board of
Rectors and Management commended and rewarded outstanding students with
excellent results in the 2013 IDEERS Contest, with one third and one
consolation prize, in the 22nd Informatics Olympiad, with two second, four third and two
consolation prizes, in the Loa Thanh
Tournament, with one second and two third places, in the Creative Summer Writing of Open Source Software
Applications,
with one second prize, and in the 2013 Information Security
Contest, with one second and one third prize. Boeing Aircraft also awarded eight
valuable scholarships to the eight top students of the CMU program. The Danang
Department of Construction offered scholarships worth three million dong to students
of the DTU Construction Department.

The 2013 DTU Student Talents & Beauty Contest
attracted many students from high
schools and universities in Danang. In the preliminary round, candidates took beautiful
photos on Son Tra Mountain and in Bien
Dong Square. They paid visited and gave gifts to Agent Orange victims in
the Cam Le district and at the Quang Chau Pagoda, helping them to demonstrate their
compassion and improve their awareness of social responsibility.
Fourteen young women and six couples
stepped onto the splendid stage of the Trung Vuong Theater for the finals of
the DTU Student Talent & Beauty. The beautiful women moved gracefully in their free-style
dresses, and the confidence and maturity of the men also impressed the judges.
After parades in traditional Ao Dai dresses, the free-style dresses and a talent
show, the top five women and top three couples were selected.
With her talent in the calligraphy and
excellent answers to the judges’ questions, Truong Thi Thu Thao, a student of the
DTU Hospitality and Tourism Department, won the hearts of the judges to win the
contest. Second-place went to Nguyen Huynh Phuong Thao, a student of DTU
Foreign Languages Department, and Phan Thi Ai Vi, a student of DTU Vocational
School, came third. In the couples section, Nguyen Chi Hao and Tran Nguyen Yen
Chi, students of DTU Foreign Languages Department were the winners, Dang Van
Dong and Nguyen Do Thao Tam, from the Business Administration Department, came
second and third-place went to Nguyen Le Gia Bao and Huynh Minh Tuyen, from the
Hospitality and Tourism Department. Finally, the organizers presented the Most Charming
Female award to Nguyen Thi Kim Thuong, from the Thai Phien High school, the
Most Talented Female award to Phan Thi Ai Vi of the Vocational school, the Most
Elegant Female award to Nguyen Huynh Phuong Thao from the Foreign Languages
Department and the Most Impressive Female award to Truong Thi Thu Thao, of the Hospitality
and Tourism Department, voted via DTU Facebook.
The contest ended with beautiful music
and opened yet another door for DTU students to continue to carry out important
and practical extra-curricula activities. Such activities, in conjunction with
their increased self-confidence, their participation in international
partnerships and the strong dedication of all members of DTU will surely build a sound foundation to start reaching for “The Duy Tan Dream”.
In the finals of the 2013 DTU
Student Talents & Beauty Contest, DTU presented ten awards to winners of the 2013 FDTU
Singing Contest, organized by the DTU Communication Center. This is a musical
festival for students all over the country. The organizers awarded one first,
two second, three third and five consolation prizes. First-place went to Le
Nguyen Qui Thu, a DTU student, who sang the song “Everyday I Love You”. For
